Respiratory Therapist Travel Assignment

Location: Omaha, Nebraska
Contract Length: 12 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Nights
• Hours: 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
• Schedule: Self-scheduled start between 6:30-7 PM
• Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Rotates with permanent staff
• Call: Not typically required; if on call, response time is 30 minutes
• Dress Code: Maroon/Wine Burgundy scrubs

Patient Population & Work Environment

• Primarily adult patients, with some pediatric cases in the ER
• Patient types include CRRT, IABP, CABG/AVR/MVR, TAVR, lung surgeries
• Coverage includes all areas: Inpatient, Outpatient, ER, Rehab, Sleep Lab
• Hospital has 24/7 Hospitalist and Intensivist coverage

Responsibilities

• Perform approximately 40-50 treatments per day
• Draw arterial blood gases (ABGs)
• Occasionally perform EKGs
• Assist with intubations (not required to intubate independently)

Equipment Used

• Ventilators and respiratory devices including Drager, LTV, I-vent, V-60, Vapotherm
• Use of PAPR, CAPR, and N95 respiratory protection

Orientation & Support

• Department-specific orientation: 2 days
• Respiratory Manager available Monday-Friday
• Typically a lead therapist available on shift

Required Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
• Must have at least 1 year of respiratory therapy experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• PALS and NRP certifications preferred but not mandatory
