Infection Preventionist RN

Overview

Location: Yuma, Arizona
Setting: Acute hospital units and ambulatory settings
Hospital size: 406 beds
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8 hours per day, with adjustable hours between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM
Contract length: 13 weeks
Start date: Not flexible

Required Qualifications

RN
2 years of experience working as an Infection Prevention RN in an acute hospital of similar size
BLS

Preferred Qualifications

Responsibilities

Round on acute units and ambulatory areas
Evaluate hand hygiene and infection control
Perform infection surveillance, including reviewing labs and suspected hospital-acquired infections
Share findings
Participate in committee and council meetings as appropriate
Report and record required items for the state health department
Serve as a consultant for infection prevention needs throughout the hospital
Participate in the daily safety huddle

Additional Details

Common patient types include healthcare-associated infections, device-related infections, and communicable disease
Works closely with hospitalists and intensivists
No weekend requirements
