Overview

• 24-bed med/surg tele unit
• 6/1 ratio
• 12-hour day shifts
• 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• Holidays are required
• Must work the schedule given; block scheduling cannot be guaranteed
• First to float to all Med/Surg units, with possible float to PCU to care for Tele holds prior to transfer

Required Qualifications

• RN license
• BLS certification
• Must be able to read strips
• Great communication and time management

Unit Details

• Common patient types include CHF, diabetes, PNA, CKD, and med/surg tele
• Tele monitor techs monitor patients on the unit
• PCTs are present at 12/1
• CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow patients are on the unit
• Charge Nurse, House Supervisors, and Nurse Educators are available
• Navy blue scrubs
• Department orientation is completed
