Registered Nurse - Med-Surg Unit (Night Shift)

Job Description

• Provide nursing care on a 20-bed medical-surgical unit serving adult geriatrics and pediatric patients.
• Staffing ratios:

  • Non-COVID patients: typically 4:1, max 5:1
  • COVID patients: typically 2:1, max 3:1
• Must be comfortable caring for both adult and pediatric patients.
• May be assigned to assist with flu immunization clinics as needed.
• Expected to attend staff meetings.
• Occasional floating to other departments where qualified, which may include taking a patient load or performing task-oriented duties such as answering call lights and phones.
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts, with flexibility to work other shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Registered Nurse license valid in Arizona.
• Minimum 3 years of medical-surgical nursing experience.
• Minimum 1 year of pediatric nursing experience.
• Certifications required:

  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

• Orientation is held on Mondays only; missing the compliance deadline will delay orientation to the following Monday.
