Job Opportunity: Sterile Processing Technician (Contract)
Location: Bangor, Maine
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Perform duties related to sterile processing under supervision, including:
- Follow hospital policies and procedures
- Properly clean and prepare instrumentation for sterilization
- Transport soiled and sterile instruments to the operating room
- Maintain competency in sterile processing processes
- Maintain good communication with co-workers and supervisors
- Other duties as assigned by SPD Supervisor, charge technician, or Director
Requirements
Certification:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) mandatory within 3 months of hire
- CSPDT (Certified Sterile Processing Department Technician) encouraged within 18 months of hire
Experience:
- No explicit years of experience required
Prior Travel Experience:
- Not specified or required
Additional Information
- Up to 16 hours of orientation (unpaid)
- Employer may cancel up to 3 shifts during the 13-week contract
- Pay adjustments may apply if residing within 50 miles of the facility
