Unit & Patient Population

• Unit: Stepdown
• Patient Types: Surgical (all types), Medical (all types), occasional Neuro patients
• Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1:3 (not guaranteed)

Required Skills & Responsibilities

Line Management Skills (Required)

• IV Insertion
• PICC/Central Line Management
• Vascular Device Access/Care
• Dialysis Fistula Care/Management
• A-Line Management

Cardiac Skills (Preferred)

• Obtain 12 Lead EKG
• Sheath Removal
• Cardioversion/Defibrillation

Airway Management (Required)

• CPAP/BiPAP
• Trach Care

Ortho/MS/Onc Skills (Required)

• Epidural/PCA pumps
• Feeding Tubes
• Wound Vac

Additional Clinical Skills

• Vasoactive Drip Titration (neosynephrine, amiodarone, cardizem, others)
• Use of equipment such as bladder scanners, IV pumps, PCA pumps, SCDs, bipaps, cpaps, optiflows, vapotherms, airvos

Certifications Required

• ACLS
• BLS/BCLS

Other Information

• Floating is required
• The facility may downstaff travelers 36 to 48 hours during the 13-week contract based on weekly schedule
