Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Location: Sitka, Alaska
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

This position is within the Operating Room, handling all types of elective and emergency surgical cases including abdominal, thoracic, urology, ENT, plastic, orthopedics, vascular, and OB/GYN procedures. The role requires efficient multitasking to ensure surgical cases proceed timely throughout the day. The position includes after-hour call coverage for nights, holidays, and weekends.

Required Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing (BSN, Associate Degree, or Diploma)
Valid, current, full, and unrestricted RN license in Alaska at time of submission
Minimum 3 years of Operating Room experience
Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
Flu vaccine required

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in Critical Access Hospitals and/or Rural Operating Rooms strongly preferred

Additional Information

Start date will be no less than 5 weeks after fingerprint cards are received for processing; travelers must schedule fingerprint appointments promptly to avoid delays
Applicants must live at least 50 miles away from the work location
No housing or flight accommodations provided
Prior travel experience is required for this position

Note: Tele refers to Telemetry only; this position is in the Operating Room specialty.
