Position Summary

Seeking an experienced and highly motivated Independent Retail Pharmacist to provide personalized healthcare services and patient-centered care in a community-focused pharmacy setting. The role involves managing all aspects of retail pharmaceutical services including procurement, distribution, storage, and administration of medications. This position plays a critical role in fostering community trust and contributing to the overall health and well-being of the local population.

Key Responsibilities

• Compound and dispense prescribed medications and pharmaceuticals for patient care.
• Review prescriptions for accuracy and determine formulas and ingredients needed.
• Supervise pharmacy staff involved in mixing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals.
• Provide drug information and counseling to customers regarding interactions, side effects, dosage, and storage.
• Engage patients in customer service and pharmacy program initiatives.
• Maintain quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and proper disposal of hazardous waste.
• Manage pharmacy records, inventory, and third-party prescription systems.
• Instruct interns and pharmacy personnel, maintaining required pharmacist-to-technician/intern ratios.
• Report prescription errors and medication incidents promptly.
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with healthcare providers.
• Pursue continuing education to stay current with laws, regulations, and pharmacy practices.
• Handle difficult or emotional customer situations professionally and confidentially.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Pharmacist license in California
• Minimum of 2 years of pharmacist experience
• Pharmacist experience within the last year
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Working Conditions

• Willingness to work beyond normal hours and temporarily in other positions as needed.
• Interaction with personnel, visitors, and government agencies when necessary.
• Must function independently with integrity, flexibility, and effective teamwork skills.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit, stand, bend, lift, walk, and move intermittently during work hours.
• Able to lift up to 25 lbs.
