Required Qualifications

• Medical Technologist experience within the last year
• 2 years of experience as a Medical Technologist
• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or a related field in science

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of computerized document system

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory tests accurately and in a timely fashion following established guidelines and physician orders
• Report tests in a timely, efficient, and accurate manner in compliance with documented laboratory procedures
• Inform appropriate personnel of department supply needs to help ensure uninterrupted testing
• Perform, record, and analyze QC data and take appropriate action to maintain accuracy and precision
• Maintain a safe and efficient working environment by performing equipment checks, cleaning the work area, and monitoring temperatures in accordance with regulatory agencies and organizational policies
• Recognize and troubleshoot malfunctions of advanced technological equipment and initiate corrective action
• Maintain clinical competency and current professional knowledge through reading relevant journal articles and attending training sessions
• Evaluate new testing methodology and contribute to writing technical laboratory procedures
• Identify and resolve problems that may adversely affect test analyses, and notify the general supervisor, technical supervisor, or director when appropriate
• Document corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from acceptable laboratory guidelines
• Assist with yearly departmental inventory
• Perform complex laboratory procedures, recognize deviations from expected results, and analyze and correct problems using scientific principles
• Operate instruments using established protocols and quality control checks, including preventive and corrective maintenance
• Recommend process improvements for increased efficiencies
• Display and promote company values
• Perform other duties as assigned
