Registered Nurse - Operating Room (OR)

Location: Louisville, Kentucky

Job Summary

As a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room, you will be responsible for providing safe, effective, patient- and family-centered care. You will assess, develop, implement, and evaluate patient care plans while promoting quality outcomes and customer satisfaction. The role includes supervising licensed and non-licensed staff, mentoring and precepting, and participating in quality and safety improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Perform patient assessments and reassessments, making sound independent decisions.
Develop, prioritize, and implement individualized plans of care in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
Monitor and document patient responses to clinical interventions.
Provide and coordinate education tailored to patient and family needs during care and at discharge.
Delegate tasks appropriately and function as a mentor/preceptor to staff.
Participate in teamwork, quality improvement, safety initiatives, and regulatory compliance.

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kentucky
Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience, including experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
