Radiologic Technologist (X-ray)

Location: Brooklyn, New York
Employment Type: Part-Time, Clinical Allied Health
Shift: Monday, Tuesday, and Friday Evenings, 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM
Hours per Week: 24 hours
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Perform radiologic treatments and pre-treatment services for patients.
• Deliver radiation therapy according to physician instructions using equipment such as Cobalt Therapy Unit, Linear Accelerator, and Simulator.
• Operate simulators for tumor localization and perform dosimetry for treatment plans.
• Take and develop radiographs and prepare patient immobilization devices.
• Educate patients on radiation therapy reactions and lifestyle modifications.
• Maintain and ensure proper functioning of radiation therapy equipment.
• Assist with patient care coordination, including transporting inpatients when necessary.
• Instruct residents and technologists on equipment use.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged standing, reaching, and walking throughout the day.
• Ability to stoop, bend, lift, and carry items up to 75 pounds.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Radiology Technician license in New York
• Radiology Technician with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year
• Certification in the operation of radiologic equipment and treatment
• High school diploma or its equivalent
• Experience in Emergency Department (ED)
• Experience in Operating Room (OR)
• X-Ray Technician experience
