Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Clinical Resource Unit (Float Pool)
Location: Normal, Illinois

Job Summary
- Provide specialized nursing care across multiple inpatient units including Medical-Oncology, Surgical-Orthopedic, Cardiovascular Care Unit, Progressive Care Unit, Mental Health Unit, and Acute Rehab.
- Care for patients with diagnoses such as coronary artery disease, myocardial infarction, strokes, cancer, post-surgical care, and more.
- Fast-paced, dynamic environment utilizing current technology and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Float to various inpatient units and provide direct nursing care.
- Perform initial patient assessments and develop, implement, and modify individualized care plans.
- Administer medications and evaluate their effects.
- Prepare patients for procedures and provide post-operative care.
- Perform IV venipuncture and blood administration.
- Document all nursing care accurately using EMR.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care.
- Manage care for acute and chronically ill cardiac and pulmonary patients.
- Educate patients and families on care plans and discharge instructions.
- Delegate tasks to healthcare technicians and validate completion.
- Maintain patient safety through adherence to fall precautions, pressure ulcer prevention, isolation precautions, and ambulation safety.
- Conduct bedside shift reports, hourly rounding, and maintain patient communication boards.
- Handle conflict management and maintain professional communication with team members.
Required Skills & Experience
- Ability to float to multiple units and care for diverse patient populations.
- Experience managing acute and chronically ill cardiac and pulmonary patients.
- Proficient in medication administration and evaluation.
- Skilled in IV venipuncture, blood administration, and post-operative care.
- Strong documentation skills using EMR systems.
- Ability to educate patients and families effectively.
- Ability to provide constructive feedback and support peer development.
- Strong critical thinking and nursing judgment skills.
- Effective collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
- Commitment to patient safety and adherence to safety protocols.
- Ability to delegate appropriately and follow up on delegated tasks.
Education & Licensure
- Required: College diploma in nursing.
- Required Certifications: BLS (AHA), Illinois Nursing License.
