Job Summary
The Registered Radiologic Technologist is responsible for producing and retaining high-quality diagnostic images using imaging, computer, and other equipment. The role requires thorough knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and image quality standards. The technologist prepares patients for procedures, educates them, and addresses any questions or concerns. Communication and patient care are tailored to age-appropriate needs, safety, and principles of physical and functional growth and development.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce and retain diagnostic images that meet or exceed department and industry standards.
- Demonstrate knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and image quality.
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures and provide education and support.
- Ensure age-appropriate communication, safety, and patient education.
- Understand patient positioning, imaging techniques, radiation safety, infection control, and quality control.
- Apply radiation safety techniques to minimize exposure to patients and staff.
- Oversee and train students involved in patient care and imaging services.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum of 2 years experience in general radiology.
