Paramedic Travel Job - Wisconsin Rapids, WI

Position Overview

• Provide basic and advanced life support treatment, care, and evaluation of patients.
• Perform ongoing patient assessment and documentation.
• Interview patients, measure vital signs, and record patient information.
• Prepare treatment rooms for patient examination.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition and treatment.
• Initiate and implement interventions based on protocols.
• Assist with treatments and tests ordered by providers under supervision.
• Perform select clinical duties after demonstrating competency, following hospital and professional scope of practice.
• Identify, intervene, and stabilize ill or injured patients in collaboration with physicians and/or Registered Nurses.
• Work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team focused on patient care.
• Ability to work independently, exercise judgment, and perform under stress.
• Recognize and effectively treat life-threatening conditions.

Contract Details

• Employment Type: Travel
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: April 6, 2026
• Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week
• Shift Requirements:

  • Either 2 shifts of 24 hours per week (if on 24-hour base)
  • Or 4 scheduled 12-hour shifts (if on 12-hour shift truck)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend as needed (scheduled rotation)
• Holidays: As needed and available
• Float Requirement: May need to float to other locations in north and central regions based on staffing needs
• On-Call Requirement: No on-call requirements (except possible low census call-back with pay)

Required Qualifications

• Wisconsin EMT Paramedic Certification
• Michigan Paramedic Certification required (NREMT-P holders eligible for MI reciprocity)
• Active Wisconsin Driver’s License in good standing
• Certifications: PALS, BLS, ACLS (PALS repeated in source), WI CCP (Critical Care Paramedic) Endorsement preferred
• Education: High school graduate and successful completion of EMS paramedic program
• Minimum Experience: 3 years preferred, 1 year required paramedic experience

Additional Information

• Charting system: Zoll EMS Charts (training provided)
• Crew configurations vary: EMT/Medic, Medic/Medic, RN/EMT, RN/Medic depending on staffing
• Contract eligible for 36 hours of unbillable low census hours
• Travelers may be placed on call for low census hours; call-back pay applies with a 2-hour minimum
• Flu and COVID vaccination policy: Travelers declining vaccination must wear a mask at all times during flu season; non-compliance results in corrective action
