Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - ER (Travel)

Location: Chicago, Illinois
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

Employment Type: Travel
Shift: 12-hour night shifts (7pm - 7am)
Schedule: No block schedule requests; every other weekend and holiday required
Guaranteed Hours: 72 hours biweekly (1 cancellation allowed per 2-week period)
Float Requirements: May float within like departments; ED nurses may float to ICU inpatient units and assist as aides if needed
On Call/Call Back: None

Unit Information

Fast-paced, inner city Emergency Department
Approximately 100 patients per day, including many pediatric and asthma cases
12-bed unit with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
Requires resilience, ability to manage change, and strong social skills

Required Qualifications

Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license
Certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS
Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience
Prior travel experience required (at least one completed travel contract)
Charting experience with Meditech strongly preferred; mandatory Meditech module training before start date
COVID-19 vaccination required unless approved medical/religious exemption

Additional Notes

No time off requests over 7 days
Orientation is bi-weekly and non-billable (12 hours)
