Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (CRT or RRT)

Job Details

• Specialty: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics
• Shift:

  • 3x12 hour shifts (either days 7am-7pm or nights 7pm-7am)
  • Weekdays with some weekends
  • Floating as needed, including to sister facilities
• Cases: Critical Care, General Care, Adults and/or Pediatrics
• Weekend Requirement: Yes
• Guaranteed Hours: 72-80 hours per pay period
• Start Date: Orientations every other Monday
• Local Radius Rule: Travelers considered within 75-100 miles radius
• Pending State License Accepted: Yes
• Return to Work Restrictions: Time off requests must be submitted two weeks prior and approved

Experience & Certification Requirements

• Years of Experience Required: Minimum 1 year in specialty
• Prior Travel Experience: Not required
• First-timers Accepted: Yes
• Certifications Required:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only (not required for some units)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
• Preferred Certifications:

  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) for Pediatrics (preferred but not always required)
  • NALS (Neonatal Advanced Life Support) for Pediatrics (preferred)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License required
• Social Security Card required (legible)
• 7-year Criminal Background Check within 30 days of start
• National Sex Offender Registry check within 30 days
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks updated annually
• Physical exam within 1 year, signed by appropriate medical provider, confirming good health and no limitations
• Annual fit mask testing (N95 3M models accepted) or PAPR accommodation if needed
• Drug screening within 30 days of start, including a comprehensive panel
• Immunizations and titers required:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (no declinations accepted; medical/religious exemptions require approval)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 3 months
  • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella (2 vaccines or positive titers required)
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or titer documentation
  • Varicella vaccination or titer documentation
  • Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved exemption required (strict deadline compliance)
  • COVID-19 vaccination not mandatory; proof or declination accepted
• Annual skills checklist for specialty required
• One professional reference required from a manager, supervisor, or charge nurse within the last year

Additional Notes

• Floating within scope to meet facility needs is required
• Block scheduling is open to accommodation but not guaranteed
• Orientation is two days (Thursday and Friday) and includes Cerner Infusion Management training
• Pass/fail testing required for nursing candidates only (not applicable for Respiratory Therapist)
• Various facility-specific policies and forms must be reviewed, signed, and returned prior to start
• Candidates with latex allergy must notify manager to avoid exposure

This position is suitable for Respiratory Therapists with at least 1 year of experience who are flexible with shifts, including weekends and floating, and who meet the certification and compliance requirements. First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
