Job Opportunity: LVN / LPN - Rehabilitation (Travel/Contract)

Location: Gloucester, Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)

Job Description

• Work on a rehab/skilled nursing unit
• Must have 2 years of experience in Long-Term Care (LTC) or rehab/skilled nursing
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates are also considered
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required

Required Experience

• Specialty: LVN / LPN
• Minimum 2 years of experience in LTC or rehab/skilled nursing
• Prior travel experience is NOT required

Certifications & Licenses

• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (AHA, ARC, Military & American Safety & Health Institute; online CPR NOT acceptable)
• Other certifications may be required depending on unit assignment; confirm with program management if unclear

Background & Compliance Requirements

• 7-year criminal background check within one year of start, updated annually
• Must run background checks for all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years
• Minimum 3 years driving experience required if driving is part of the job
• Fingerprinting via Virginia State Police National Criminal Background Check (effective 7/15/2025)
• Drug screening within the last 12 months
• Physical exam within the last 12 months
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within the last 12 months (or appropriate clearance if positive)
• Required vaccinations or proof of immunity: Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
• Flu vaccination required during flu season (10/1-3/31) with strict deadlines for documentation or approved exemptions
• COVID vaccination series preferred

Documentation & Compliance

• Government-issued photo ID required
• Valid and current driver’s license required for Home Health & Hospice positions (if applicable)
• I-9 verification and E-Verify required
• Photo for badge meeting specific guidelines (recent, professional, neutral background, no hats/headphones, etc.)
• Confidentiality agreement, dress code policy, scrub color policy, safety brochure, drug-free policy, hand washing hygiene policy acknowledgment required
• References: 2 professional references required
• Employment application/resume required
• Skills checklist must be updated annually

Additional Notes

• Orientation includes computer-based learning (CBL) with pass/fail testing for EKG/medication as applicable
• Medication and pharmacology competency exams required as applicable
• Stroke education CEUs required for RNs in acute care settings (not applicable for LVN/LPN)
• Facility-specific policies and agreements must be reviewed and signed prior to start

This position offers an opportunity to work in a skilled nursing and rehabilitation environment with a reputable healthcare system in Virginia. It is suitable for LVNs/LPNs with at least 2 years of LTC or rehab experience, including those new to travel assignments.
