Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (PACU) - Travel/Contract

Location: Marrero, Louisiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Position involves caring for pediatric patients.
• Call requirement: Yes, 1-2 times per week including weekend call rotation.
• Weekend work required.
• Holiday work required.
• No float requirement.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse experience required.
• Epic electronic health record experience required.

Certifications Required

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

Additional Requirements

• Scrubs provided by the hospital.
• Must meet all background check and verification requirements.
• Must complete competency exams and maintain certifications as required.
• Must comply with health and immunization requirements including:

  • Physical exam (within 12 months)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray per protocol
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • Drug screening within 30 days of start
  • Seasonal flu vaccination/documentation (required Oct 1 – March 31)

Competencies and Exams

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (annual)
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (annual)
• Core Competency Exams (Parts I, II, III) (annual)

Notes

• Employment application must include 7 years of work history with no gaps over 30 days.
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.

This role is ideal for experienced Registered Nurses with pediatric and PACU experience who are comfortable with call and weekend rotations and hold the required certifications.
