Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (MedSurg/Cardiac Floor)

Position Details

• Unit: MedSurg/Cardiac Floor
• Shift: 3x12 hour day shifts (07:00 - 19:30)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
• Call Requirement: None
• Float Requirement: N/A
• Weekend Requirement: Yes
• Holiday Requirement: Yes
• Experience Required: Minimum 1 year
• First-timers Accepted: Yes
• Locals Accepted: No (must live at least 50 miles away from the facility)
• Charting System: Cerner Powerchart

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only
• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
• Other certifications may be required depending on unit (PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, EFM, NIH Stroke Certification, etc.) – check unit-specific requirements

Background and Compliance Requirements

• Background check covering last 7 years and all states lived/worked in, required within 90 days of start and annually (except APN)
• Education verification or copy of diploma/transcripts required
• State license verification required
• Drug testing: Negative 12-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (instant accepted if needed for quick start)
• Physical exam required
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (T-Spots not accepted)
• Immunizations or titers required for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
  • Varicella
• Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious declination required prior to start
• Michigan-specific fingerprint results required

Additional Facility Requirements

• Completion of facility-specific modules (~8-10 hours), due prior to start
• Clear, passport-style photo for badge
• Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure Agreement prior to start
• COVID vaccine or approved medical exemption documentation if applicable
• Flu vaccine declination forms if applicable (medical or religious)
