Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Tracy, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Requirements
- Valid California RN License
- Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
- Work Schedule: Every other weekend required
Background Check Requirements
- 7-year background check within 6 months of start, including:
- Social Security Trace with all aliases
- County searches for last 7 years of residence/work/school
- Nationwide Sex Offender Search (within 90 days of start)
- Education verification (highest level achieved, except if high school)
- FACIS Level 3 screening within 2 weeks of start and monthly thereafter
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks, updated annually
- Motor Vehicle Report if applicable (driving positions)
- Transcript/Diploma verification or attestation if verification unsuccessful
- Pending background check attestation may be required if background is delayed (subject to facility approval)
Certifications & Verifications
- State License: Copy and primary source online verification within 30 days of start
- NURSYS Verification for RN within 30 days of start
- Other certifications may be required depending on position (e.g., CCRN, TNCC, NIH Stroke Certification, EFM, CPI, MAB) – verify with manager
- Tech Cert Verification (as applicable) within 30 days of start
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical Exam within 1 year of start (must indicate cleared for work)
- Fit Mask Test within 1 year, renewed annually (specific mask types required)
- Immunizations:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days, renewed annually
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or vaccination series with boosters as needed
- Hepatitis B: Positive titer, vaccination series, or signed declination
- Varicella: Positive titer or vaccination series with boosters as needed
- Seasonal Flu Vaccination during flu season (Nov 1 - Apr 30) or signed declination
- Drug Testing: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids per CA law)
- Color Blind Exam (in-person, if applicable)
- Respiratory Safety Clearance (not required for some roles)
Competency Exams
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (may be required for some units)
- Other unit-specific competency exams as required
Employment History & Documentation
- Full 7 years of work history with no gaps over 30 days, including city and state of employment
- Employment verification for up to 7 years required
- Professional references: 2 for clinical/allied/per diem acute care; 1 for per diem non-acute care (Aya requirement only)
