Physical Therapist (Travel/Contract)

Location: O'Fallon, Missouri
Specialty: Therapy/Rehabilitation
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Schedule & Work Details

  • Shift: PT Days, Monday - Thursday, 4x10 hour shifts (08:30 AM - 07:00 PM)
  • Weekend/Holiday Rotation: Full weekend every 6 weeks with a flex day before and after to maintain 40 hours/week
  • Ratios: 1:1 patient care
  • Float Requirement: Yes, float between St. Peters and Progress West as needed
  • On-call: No
  • Block Schedule: Not accommodated
  • Local Candidates: Not accepted (must live at least 75 miles from facility)
  • Return to Office Restrictions: No more than 7 days
  • Guaranteed Hours: 3 shifts per 13 weeks (cancelled shifts must be full shift length)

Experience & Certification Requirements

  • Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years required
  • First-timers: Not accepted
  • Certifications Required:
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
    • State Physical Therapy License (Missouri)
  • Pending License: Not accepted

  • Range of Motion techniques (AROM/AAROM/PROM)
  • Use of Assistive Devices (Crutches, Gait Belt, Rolling Walker, Sliding Boards, Standard Walker)
  • Body Mechanics, Pain Assessment, Skin Integrity, Strength Testing, Breathing Techniques
  • Patient Assessment, Evaluation, Discharge Planning, Long and Short Term Goals, Plan of Care, Reassessments
  • Time Management
  • Supplemental Oxygen, Traction Table use
  • Treatment of conditions including: Ankle Sprains, Degenerative Disc and Joint Disease, Frozen Shoulder, Hip Fractures/Injuries, Low Back Pain, Lumbar Traction, Osteoarthritis, Post-op cervical/shoulder/spinal surgeries, Sciatica, Spinal Conditions and Mobilization, Taping, Total Hip and Knee Replacement
  • Neurological conditions: Dementia/Alzheimer’s, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease, Post Stroke Rehabilitation
  • Modalities: Cervical Traction, Cryotherapy, E-stim, Iontophoresis, Moist Heat
  • Home Exercise Program development
  • Patient and family education
  • Awareness of signs & symptoms of physical, sexual, psychological abuse
  • Safety and injury prevention

Special Requirements:

  • Orthopedics, Neurology, General weakness, Pain management
  • Therapists with advanced training in LSVT BIG for Parkinson’s, vestibular, and pelvic floor are present but not required

  • Scrub Color: Tan pants/scrub bottoms and black top/scrub top
  • Parking: No cost

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Government-issued ID required (Driver’s License for Home Health positions)
  • Criminal background check within 6 months (7-year search including statewide, nationwide, and international if applicable)
  • Quarterly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
  • Education verification of highest degree related to profession (no pending at start)
  • State license primary source verification (Missouri licenses verified via NURSYS)
  • Drug testing within 1 year of start, must include standard panels and not expire during assignment
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start
  • Fit mask testing (N95 respirators) with annual renewal
  • Immunizations and titers: Tdap, TB testing or equivalent, Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (with boosters or declination as applicable)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season
  • Facility-specific documents including HIPAA acknowledgement, confidentiality form, latex allergy questionnaire, hand hygiene and fingernail policies, dress code policy, and float attestation
  • Unit-specific competency exams and skills checklists required, including oncology competencies if applicable
  • References: Two professional references required (supervisors preferred)
  • Employment application required

Additional Notes

  • Must be willing to float between specified facilities as needed
  • No accommodation for block scheduling
  • Must maintain compliance with all facility and state-specific background and health requirements
  • Advanced certifications such as ACLS, PALS, NRP, CPI, MAB, NIH Stroke Certification may be required depending on unit assignment (check unit-specific requirements)
