Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Labor & Delivery / Postpartum)

Location: Bend, Oregon
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Requirements

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse with full labor and delivery experience, including postpartum care
  • Years of Experience Required: 2 years
  • Prior Travel Experience: Not required (First-time travelers accepted)
  • Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
  • Weekend Requirement: Minimum of every other weekend or 8 weekend shifts during contract
  • On-call: No
  • Floating: Yes, within scope to meet facility needs (includes floating to a low-risk family birthing unit at a nearby campus)
  • Locals Accepted: No (75-mile radius rule)
  • Pending License Accepted: No
  • Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: 7 days

Certifications Required

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA Provider, Instructor, or RQI acceptable
  • AWHONN Intermediate
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA Provider, Instructor, or RQI acceptable
  • FHM (Fetal Heart Monitoring)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

Skills & Competencies

  • Must meet AWHONN staffing standards
  • Experience working with break RNs and resource RNs

Background Checks & Verifications

  • 7-year criminal background check (including SSN trace, counties lived/worked/school, FACIS L3, DOJ sex offender search, nationwide check, education verification)
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM check
  • HHS/OIG check
  • Primary source verification of state license
  • NURSYS verification for RN license
  • Diploma or transcript on file

Health & Facility Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start
  • TDAP vaccine within 10 years (or declination accepted)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray as applicable
  • Annual TB questionnaire
  • Proof of immunity or vaccination for:
    • Measles (Rubeola)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (positive titer required)
    • Varicella
  • Negative 12-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or declination/exemption required during flu season
  • Respiratory safety clearance within 1 year, required annually
  • Annual skills checklist

Additional Notes

  • Photo for badge and several facility-specific agreements and forms must be completed and on file within 48 hours of signing and no later than 2 Wednesdays prior to start.
  • Floating duties include coverage at a low-risk family birthing unit at a nearby campus.

This position is ideal for a Registered Nurse with labor and delivery experience looking for a travel contract in Oregon with a 13-week commitment. First-time travel nurses are welcome to apply.

Pros

Traveler friendly. Lots of staff. Busy LDRP but not insanely busy. Bend is a beautiful city with lots of things to do.
