Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology (IR) Tech
Location: Kalamazoo, Michigan

Position Details
- Role: Interventional Radiology Tech
- Start Date: ASAP
- Shift: 5 days a week, 8 hours per day (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM)
- Call Requirements:
- Every other week: 4 PM to 7 AM
- Every other weekend: 24-hour on-call
- Weekend Requirements: On-call only every other weekend
- Holiday Requirements: On-call as needed
- Floating: None
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week
- Patient Volume: Approximately 10 visits per day
- Experience Required: Minimum 1 year
- First-timers: Accepted
- Special Requirements: Assist with sterile procedures in IR and NIL
- Charting System: Cerner
- Scrub Color: Provided
Certifications & Licenses
- Required Certifications:
- ACLS (AHA only)
- BLS (AHA only)
- Other certifications as applicable per unit (e.g., PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, EFM, NIH Stroke Certification)
- State License: Required as applicable per profession
- Tech Certification Verification: Required as applicable
- Pass/Fail Testing: On-site EKG exam required for Monitor Techs (if applicable)
Background & Compliance Requirements
- Background check covering last 7 years and all states lived/worked in, required within 90 days of start and annually thereafter (except APN)
- Education verification or copy of diploma/transcripts required
- Physical exam required
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (T-Spots not accepted)
- TB questionnaire required prior to start and annually
- Immunizations or titers required for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (titer, series, or declination)
- Varicella
- Drug testing: Negative 12-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (instant 12-panel accepted as placeholder if needed)
- Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious declination required prior to start and documentation on file by 12/15 for working candidates
- COVID vaccine medical exemption available with proper documentation
Facility Specific Requirements
- Clear, passport-style photo for badge (jpeg format)
- Completion of facility-specific modules (~8-10 hours), due by 1 PM CST Friday prior to start (not required if worked with facility in past year)
- Confidentiality and Non-Disclosure Agreement required prior to start
- Flu and COVID vaccine declination forms must be submitted and approved if applicable
Notes
- Candidates should plan accordingly for module completion and required documentation submission.
- Extensions or agency flips do not require new modules.
- Facility may require additional certifications depending on unit assignment; candidates should verify unit-specific requirements.
This position offers a structured schedule with on-call responsibilities and requires a minimum of one year of experience in Interventional Radiology. First-time travelers are welcome to apply.
