Job Details

• Start Date: ASAP
• Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Patient Ratio: 1:4

Experience & Requirements

• Specialty: Registered Nurse
• Years of Experience Required: 1.5 years
• Prior Travel Experience: Required (No first-time travelers accepted)
• License: Kansas state license or compact license at time of submission
• Certifications Required:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • NIH Stroke Certification (annual)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
• Skills Required:

  • Interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
  • Management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
  • Central line care/management
  • Continuous IV sedation
  • IV vasopressors
  • CPAP/BiPAP management
  • Interpretation of ABGs
  • Care of ventilated patients
  • Isolation precautions
  • Triage skills
• Preferred Skills: Charge nurse experience
• Electronic Medical Record: MEDITECH experience required, no exceptions

• Radius restriction: Must live within 100 miles; mileage reviewed upon submittal
• Prior employees of this facility will not be considered
• Travel experience is mandatory; no exceptions

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background checks including 7-year criminal history, SS trace, sex offender registry, FACIS Level III
• Proof of highest degree (transcript/diploma or education verification)
• Drug screening (10-panel, SAMHSA certified, including marijuana) within 30 days of start
• Physical exam within 30 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or ARNP
• N95 Fit Test within 12 months or completed onsite during orientation
• Immunizations and titers:

  • Tdap (current within 10 years, required for Birth Center/NICU staff)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or 2-dose vaccine series)
  • Hepatitis B (positive titer, vaccine series, or declination form)
  • Varicella (positive titer or 2-dose vaccine series)
• Seasonal flu vaccine or declination required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
• COVID-19 vaccine or declination accepted
• References: 2 professional references within 2 years required for travel positions
• Completion of facility-specific Healthstream modules (~8 hours) prior to start

Summary

This is a travel Registered Nurse position in Salina, Kansas requiring 1.5 years of RN experience and prior travel experience.
