Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract

Location: La Plata, Maryland

Shift: Nights, 3x12 hour shifts (19:00-07:30), every other weekend and holidays as scheduled

Job Description

• Provide respiratory support and care across various patient populations including neonates, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics.
• Work with a variety of diagnoses requiring respiratory care throughout the facility.
• Floating required within the respiratory specialty across all settings where respiratory support is needed.
• No on-call required.

Required Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
• Prior Travel Experience: First-time travelers are considered and accepted (prior travel experience NOT required).
• Licenses/Certifications:

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

• Neonates
• Pediatrics
• Adults
• Geriatrics

Work Requirements

• Floating within the respiratory specialty as needed.
• Weekend shifts every other weekend.
• Holiday shifts as scheduled.

Compliance and Documentation Requirements (Summary)

• Background checks including 7-year criminal history, education verification, and various federal/state screenings.
• Physical exam within 1 year of start.
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start (N95 respirator clearance required).
• Immunizations and titers:

  • TB testing (negative within required timeframe or appropriate follow-up)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (required for units working with children)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or vaccination proof)
  • Hepatitis B (positive titer or declination accepted)
  • Varicella (positive titer or vaccination proof)
  • Seasonal Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (required during flu season)
• Drug screening: Negative 9 or 10 panel drug screen within 30-45 days prior to start.
• Two supervisory references within 1 year of start.
• Employment application and work history verification for the previous 5 years.
• Various facility-specific documents and agreements to be completed prior to start.

Additional Notes

• Floating within the specialty is required.
• No on-call duties.
• Weekend and holiday shifts are mandatory as scheduled.
• First-time travel Respiratory Therapists are welcome to apply.
