Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology - Special Procedures Tech
Location: Providence, Rhode Island
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift Details
- 8-hour day shift: 08:00 AM - 4:30 PM
- Call required
- Unit accepts first-time travelers
Required Certifications
- ARRT (Radiologic Technologist)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- CCI RCIS (Cardiovascular Credentialing International - Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist)
- State License (Rhode Island)

- Interpretation of Dysrhythmias
- Laser Assisted Procedures
- Scrub Procedures and maintaining sterile field
- Adrenal Angiography
- Angiography of Genitourinary System
- Cholecystostomy
- Cystoscopy
- Embolization
- Gastrostomy
- Nephrostomy
- Renal Angiography
- Renal Artery Stent Placement
- Ureteral Stent Placement
- Uterine Arterial Embolization
- Endovascular Interventions
- Equipment Set Up
- Room Circulator
- Vascular Closure System (Perclose, StarClose)
Preferred Experience:
- Previous charge experience
- Teaching hospital experience
- Community hospital experience
Required Qualifications
- Valid Rhode Island State License for Radiologic Technologist
- ARRT certification in Radiology or Cardiology specialty accepted
- BLS certification
- CCI RCIS certification
- Ability to pass required background checks and fingerprinting (including NCIC/BCI for Rhode Island)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Up-to-date immunizations and health screenings including:
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination/titer or declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Seasonal flu vaccine or approved declination during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
- Drug screening (9 panel) after position acceptance
- Respiratory safety clearance required annually
Additional Requirements
- Completion of facility-specific onboarding documents and confidentiality agreements prior to start
- Annual skills checklist and competency exams as applicable
- Medication system experience with Omnicell preferred
Prior Travel Experience
- No prior travel experience required; first-time travelers accepted

- Scrubs provided
- This is a teaching hospital environment with a community hospital setting preference
- Call responsibilities are part of the role
