Job Opportunity: Dialysis Technician Lead / Supervisor

Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Dialysis Tech (Lead/Supervisor role)
- Shift: Days, 5x8 (07:30 AM - 2:00 PM), variable days off
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Start Date: ASAP (from 3/9)
- Floating: Yes, within scope across ICU units
- Block Schedule: Not accommodated

Required Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years total experience:
- 2+ years inpatient dialysis experience
- 1 year in a lead/supervisor role
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
- NNCC CCHT (Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician)
- Washington State MA-HT License (Medical Assistant - Hemodialysis Technician)
- Machine Experience: HARDSTOP FRESENIUS machine experience is a hard requirement

Background Checks & Compliance
- 7-year criminal background check required within 45 days of start
- Must run checks on current and former legal names and known aliases
- Education verification required for Med Lab Techs (not applicable here)
- WA WATCH Search required
- Various federal and state background checks including EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, Sex Offender Search
- Canadian travelers: SSN can pend if legal to work in the US is confirmed
Health & Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year prior to start (not required by UWMC but recommended)
- Mask Fit Test within 12 months of start (3M 1860R, 1860S, or 1870+ masks)
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years or declination on file
- Negative TB test (Qgold, Tspot, or 2-step PPD within 90 days) or chest X-ray if positive TB history
- Annual TB questionnaire required
- Required immunizations or titers: Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella (or declinations)
- Seasonal flu vaccine or declination required during flu season (09/29 - 03/31)
- COVID vaccination or declination required for tracking purposes
- Drug screening within past 12 months (required by Aya, not UWMC)
Competency & Orientation Requirements
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (80% passing score required)
- Color Blind Testing (required for all candidates)
- Competency Exam (required)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (required for certain units, not specifically dialysis)
- Orientation testing is pass/fail with 80% passing score at Harborview
- Completion of UW Medicine | HMC | Orientation modules prior to start (approx. 2-3 hours)
