Job Overview

This is a travel/contract position for a Registered Nurse specializing in Utilization Review. Weekend work requirements may vary.

Required Qualifications

• License: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for California.
• Years of Experience: Not explicitly stated; default to standard RN experience expectations.

Certifications (as applicable to RN)

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification.
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation certification.
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure) - Current certification by AAP, AHA, or Canadian Paediatric Society.
• Chemotherapy Certification (if applicable).
• Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) Certification (if applicable).
• IV Certification (if applicable).
• Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) (if applicable).
• NIH Stroke Certification (required every 2 years).
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) Certification (if applicable).
• NURSYS Verification required for all RNs.

Background and Compliance Requirements

• Background check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years. Must be updated annually.
• Education Verification: Nursing degree verification required. International education requires diploma/transcript or CES report.
• Drug Testing: 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests).
• Physical Exam: Within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO.
• Immunizations and Health Documents:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination accepted).
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually.
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer with acceptable documentation.
  • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination.
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer with acceptable documentation.
  • Seasonal Flu Vaccine during flu season or declination.
  • COVID vaccine or declination.
• Respiratory Safety Clearance: Required annually for travel candidates.

Facility and System Specific Requirements

• Completion of required WorkRamp modules (annual regulatory, specialty-specific, regional core, and specialty modules) prior to start and annually thereafter.
• Photo for badge with neutral background may be required.
• Epic Access training modules completion required for SoCal and other specified regions.
• Compliance with float policy: May be required to float to other Providence facilities within reasonable distance.

References and Employment History

• Minimum of 2 references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting. Must be from supervisors.
• Employment application covering at least the last 5 years of employment with month/year format for dates.
