Job Opportunity: Mammography Tech

Location: Palo Alto, California
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Must be willing to work weekends, weekdays, and some evening shifts.
  • Possible shift times include 7 AM - 3 PM on weekends and variable 7 AM - 5 PM on weekdays.
  • Overtime may be available.

Required Qualifications

  • Current CRT (Certified Radiologic Technologist) certification.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required (AHA or ARC only).
  • ARRT certification in mammography is preferred but not mandatory.

Background and Compliance Requirements

  • 7-year background check required within 6 months of start, including SSN trace with all aliases, county searches, nationwide sex offender search, education verification, and motor vehicle report if applicable.
  • FACIS Level 3 screening required within 2 weeks of start and monthly thereafter.
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required and updated annually.
  • Education verification required (not if highest education is high school).
  • Sex offender search must be run within 90 days of start.
  • Various state and federal compliance screenings as applicable.

Certifications and Competencies

  • ACLS, PALS, NRP, CCRN, TNCC, EFM, CPI, NIH Stroke Certification, and other certifications may be required depending on position specifics (verify with recruiter).
  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam and other competency exams required as applicable.

Health and Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start (must indicate cleared for work).
  • Fit mask test within 1 year, renewed annually (exceptions apply).
  • Adult Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination within 10 years.
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 90 days of start, renewed annually.
  • Immunity or vaccination proof for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, and Varicella required.
  • Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids due to CA law).
  • Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (Nov 1 - Apr 30) or signed declination.
  • Color blind exam required if applicable (in-person only).
  • Respiratory safety clearance required and renewed annually (exceptions apply).

Employment History and References

  • Full 7 years of work history required on application with no gaps.
  • Employment verification for up to 7 years required; gaps over 30 days must be explained.
  • Two professional references required for clinical/allied/per diem acute care candidates; one for per diem non-acute care.
