Job Opportunity: Therapy/Rehabilitation - Travel/Contract
Location: San Diego, California
Contract Length: 20 weeks (interpreted from 20)
Shift:
- Either 5x8 hour shifts or 4x10 hour shifts, Monday through Friday
Requirements
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Therapy/Rehabilitation
- Experience working with children aged 0-3 years
- Experience with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Experience in a children’s hospital setting
- Pediatric outpatient experience preferred
Licenses & Certifications:
- California state license
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (AHA only, HeartCode Complete Provider acceptable)
- CCC-SLP (Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology) required
- VitalStim certification preferred (not required)
Additional Certifications (preferred or required depending on role):
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred but not required for this role
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) required for many clinical roles in children’s hospital settings
- Other certifications may be required depending on specific clinical area (e.g., NRP, CHEMO, TNCC)
Compliance & Documentation
- Valid photo ID (front and back) required on first day
- Background checks within 30 days of start, including criminal background, sex offender search, national criminal database, education verification
- Education verification required (transcripts/diploma acceptable as placeholder)
- State license verification within 30 days of start
- NPI number must be provided if available
- Various facility-specific forms and acknowledgments must be signed prior to start (e.g., HIPAA & PHI, Code of Conduct, Confidentiality Agreement, Professional Accountability, Red Rules Acknowledgement)
- Badge photo required (JPEG format, recent, plain background)
Health & Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, DO, NP, PA, or APRN
- Fit test for N95 masks within 1 year of start
- Immunizations/vaccinations required:
- Tdap (within 10 years, no declinations accepted)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required
- Hepatitis B: Series or titer required; declination allowed only with low/negative titer documentation
- Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required
- Seasonal flu vaccine required during flu season (no declinations accepted)
- Negative drug test (non-THC 9 panel) within 30 days of start
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray documentation within required timeframes
Competency Exams & Testing
- Medication calculation test required for all RNs (100% passing score, two attempts allowed)
- Pediatric Pharmacology competency exam required (80% passing score)
- Competency exams (Pediatric-specific) required annually with 80% passing score
- Core Part I, II, and III competency exams required annually (except Core III not required for Medical Assistants)
- Pass/fail testing acknowledgment required for all RNs (except Case Managers)
References & Employment History
- Two supervisory references required within 1 year of start from clinical leadership (director, supervisor, or manager)
- Employment application must cover full 7 years with explanations for gaps over 6 months

- School experience does NOT count toward required experience
- Prior travel experience is NOT explicitly required for this position
- Candidates must be prepared to complete various facility-specific policies and trainings, some of which may be completed onsite
- Candidates must bring required documentation on the first day, including completed vehicle registration form if applicable
