Position Details
- Title: Cardiac Cath Lab Cardiovascular Radiologic Technologist (CV RTR)
- Shift: 4x10 hour shifts (0730-1800), variable days off
- Start Date: ASAP
- Weekend Requirement: Yes, only when taking call
- On-Call Requirement: Yes, weeknights 1800-0730 and weekends Friday 1800 to Monday 0730 (typically 1 night/week and 1 full weekend/month)
- Floating: Yes, within hospital and to sister hospitals (Main Campus & Southwest Waterfront Location)
- Block Schedule: Not accommodated unless otherwise stated
- Locals Accepted: Yes
- Pending License Accepted: Yes, if application submitted and received by licensing board
- Return to Office Restrictions: 1 week max
Experience & Certification Requirements
- Years of Experience Required: Minimum 1 year in specialty
- Prior Travel Experience: Not required (first-timers accepted)
- National Certifications Required:
- BLS (AHA provider only, traditional AHA e-cards required)
- ACLS (AHA provider only, traditional AHA e-cards required)
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
Job Responsibilities
- Operate fluoroscopy in the Cardiac Cath Lab
- Monitor and scrub procedures
- Assist with supply and equipment management/stocking
- Participate in unit development projects
- Cross-training to EP procedures and support as needed
- Potential training to assist in TAVR and TMVR procedures in the SOR Hybrid OR room

Compliance & Documentation Requirements
Background Checks
- Must be completed within 6 months prior to start
- Includes education verification, work history verification, international searches if applicable
- National Sex Offender Search required within 30 days prior to start
- No open court cases allowed
- Background check must be initiated within 24 hours of signed contract
Licensure & Verification
- Primary source verification of state license within 60 days prior to start
- Pending licenses accepted if application is submitted and received
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam (required by Aya standard within 1 year of start)
- Fit mask test within 1 year prior to start (N95 or equivalent masks required)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine or signed declination
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months of start
- TB questionnaire required
- Immunity or vaccination for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (full series or signed declination)
- Varicella
- Drug testing: Negative 10-panel with methamphetamines listed, within 3 months prior to start
- Seasonal flu vaccination or signed declination (deadline 12/01/2025)
Competency & Skills
- Skills checklist required within 1 year of start
- Medication test/pharmacology competency exam (required score 85% or higher)
- Color blind testing for phlebotomists within 12 months of start
References & Work History
- Two manager or supervisor references from the last 24 months required
- Employment application must include at least 7 years of work history with city and state for each position
Additional Notes
- Candidates must be fully available for compliance needs up until start date
- Professional appearance policy must be reviewed and signed prior to start
- Completion of facility-specific orientation modules required prior to badge issuance
- Onsite respirator clearance and fit testing may be required if not completed prior to start
- Candidates must complete and sign coronavirus protocol attestation
This position is ideal for Cath Lab Techs with at least 1 year of experience who are comfortable with on-call responsibilities and weekend coverage when taking call. The role offers exposure to advanced cardiac procedures in a Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma teaching hospital.
