Job Details
- Work Schedule: 4-hour day shifts

Required Qualifications
- California RN License
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification
- Minimum 5 years pediatric nursing experience
- Minimum 2 years Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) experience
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years experience in Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), Emergency Department (ED), or Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
- Experience in a Level 1 Trauma hospital
- ASPAN certification
Certifications & Competencies
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA certified (required for many clinical areas)
- BLS - AHA certified (required for all clinical positions)
- PALS - AHA certified (required for pediatric units)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - required for select pediatric areas
- CHEMO certification for Oncology and Pediatric Oncology (if applicable)
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) may be required for ER/ED
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) for Labor & Delivery (if applicable)
- Pass/Fail Telemetry and Medication Tests required for all RNs
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification required for psychiatric positions
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (passing score 80%+) within 1 year of start
- Unit-specific Competency Exam (passing score 80%+) within 12 months of start
- Core Parts I, II, and III competency exams (passing score 80%+) annually

- 7-year criminal background check including specific Bay Area counties
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start

- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years, no declinations accepted)

- Varicella (IGG titer or 2 vaccines)

- COVID-19 vaccination requirements including booster doses or approved exemptions
Documentation & Training
- Current and valid government-issued photo ID matching professional license
- Updated resume with last 7 years of work history; gaps over 30 days must be explained
- Two supervisory references required (one from most recent employment)
- Unit-specific skills checklist updated annually
- Completion of facility-specific learning modules prior to or within first week of assignment
- Completion of facility-required cybersecurity and HIPAA training with passing scores
- Completion of facility-specific COVID-19 questionnaires and attestation forms as required
Additional Notes
- Candidates must review and initial facility policies on parking, uniforms, COVID-19 preparedness, and confidentiality agreements prior to start
- Religious and medical exemptions for COVID-19 vaccine require advance approval and documentation
- Pass/fail testing on first day of orientation includes medication and telemetry exams; multiple retakes allowed with failure resulting in cancellation
- Fit testing for masks may be completed onsite if necessary, with specific procedures for certain departments
This position requires a highly experienced pediatric RN with strong critical care and PACU background, appropriate certifications, and compliance with extensive health and facility-specific requirements.
