Ultrasound Tech - General (Travel/Contract)

Location: Mountain Home, Arkansas
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Work Schedule

• Night shift, Tuesday to Friday, 11:30 PM to 10:00 AM (4x10 hour shifts)
• Facility may consider 5x8 shifts Monday to Friday, 10:30 PM to 7:00 AM
• Call required with response time within 30 minutes
• Hospital setting open 24/7, 365 days a year

Job Description

• Perform sonography exams in various hospital departments including surgery, emergency, and patient floors
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, squat, twist, and occasionally lift/push/pull up to 100 pounds using proper body mechanics
• Must have keen hearing and visual acuity
• Ability to handle critical and highly stressful situations efficiently and with composure
• Effective oral and written communication skills required

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an Ultrasound/Sonography program
• Minimum 1 year of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist within the last year
• Certifications required: ARDMS, ARRT, and current BLS certification

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Government issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
• Social Security Card
• E-Verify or Attestation
• Background check: 7-year history within 6 months of start, annual updates required for direct candidates, includes aliases, SS trace, counties, state, national, education verification, motor vehicle report (if applicable)
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
• Sex offender and state-specific criminal history checks within 30 days of start
• Education verification
• References: 2 required within 3 years of start

Certifications and Competencies

• Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA accepted
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - AHA accepted
• Other certifications as applicable (e.g., PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM, ENPC, NIH Stroke, Chemotherapy) - refer to job details for applicability
• Competency exams required within 1 year of start
• Orientation Safety Manual acknowledgment, updated annually
• Technical certification verification within 30 days of start

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start (must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start; positive TB requires chest X-ray within 5 years and annual questionnaire
• TB questionnaire required regardless of TB status
• Immunizations or positive titers required for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (series, positive titer, or declination)
  • Varicella
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
• Seasonal influenza vaccination or facility-specific declination during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
• COVID-19 vaccination documentation or exemption/declination notification
• Drug testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; instant tests not accepted; must have plan for completion within 72 hours of contract signing
• Fit mask test completed onsite during orientation
