Registered Nurse – Emergency Department (ER)

Location: York, Pennsylvania
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Work in a 74-bed Emergency Department (Level 1 Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center, Chest Pain Accredited Center of Excellence) with a 3-bed trauma bay and secure behavioral health unit.
• May float to a 22-bed Emergency Transitional Care Unit (ETCU) with telemetry capability and negative pressure rooms.
• Provide inpatient-level care to patients held in ETCU and assist in the main ED as needed.
• Could care for COVID-19 patients.
• Tobacco and fragrance-free facility.

Schedule

• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each)
• Work every 3rd weekend and holidays as needed
• Floating required (including ETCU)
• Blocked schedules not approved
• Return to Office (RTO) within 7 days

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Pennsylvania
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• ACLS certification
• BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• PALS certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Trauma experience

• Clear, passport-style photo for badge (professional appearance, light background, no face coverings except religious headwear)
• Completion and signing of facility-specific documents including:

  • Code of Conduct
  • Confidentiality Agreement
  • Commitment to Health & Wellness
  • Non-Employee Affidavit
  • Hepatitis B Declination form (if applicable)
• Completion of Learning Management System (LMS) modules on PC/laptop prior to start (not accessible via cell phone)
• New hire orientation to be completed by end of first day

Notes

• Candidate will undergo a clinical prescreen and manager interview before final approval.
• Floating may include Emergency Transitional Care Unit duties.
• The ETCU is a staging area for patients awaiting further testing, consultation, or inpatient beds, not an express admission or holding unit.
• Facility is tobacco and fragrance free; candidates should be aware prior to submission.
