Registered Nurse – Cath Lab (Travel/Contract)
Location: Worcester, Massachusetts
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Day shift, 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
- Charting system: Epic
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Massachusetts
- Minimum 1 year of Cardiac Cath Lab nursing experience within the last year
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Accepts first-time travel nurses (no prior travel experience required)
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Valid government-issued ID required
- Massachusetts Statewide iCORI Release (time sensitive, required within 30 days prior to start)
- 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, including SSN trace, county, national, and federal searches
- Education verification of highest completed degree (transcript acceptable if verification unavailable)
- Drug test within 30 days of start (specific panels required)
- Physical exam within 12 months of start, including physician statement of fitness without restrictions
- Immunizations or valid declinations required for:
- COVID-19 (most recent vaccine or facility-specific declination)
- Flu seasonal vaccine or declination (required during flu season)
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (declinations not accepted for Pediatrics, NICU, Maternity)
- MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella (declinations not accepted for Pediatrics, NICU, Maternity)
- Tuberculosis screening: Two PPD tests or equivalent within required timeframes; positive results require chest X-ray and facility-specific questionnaire
- Medication and Telemetry competency exams required on first day of orientation with minimum passing score of 80% (Telemetry exam required only for RNs working in telemetry units)
- NURSYS license verification within 30 days prior to start
- Employment application documenting 7 years of employment history with explanations for gaps over 30 days
- Two professional references within the last three years
- Skills checklist completed prior to start and updated annually as applicable
Additional Notes
- Candidates must pass required competency exams on the first attempt to avoid assignment cancellation
- Some certifications (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP) may be required depending on specific unit assignments; verify specialty-specific requirements prior to start
- Background check and compliance documentation must be maintained and updated as required by agency policies
