Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (RRT-NICU)

• Contract Length: 13 weeks

Work Schedule

• Night shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (19:00 - 07:30)
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend plus every other holiday
• On-call requirement: Potential for mandatory on-call shifts (approximately 2 shifts per month)
• Floating required within scope to ER, Adult ICU Stepdown, pediatric unit, and floors
• Block scheduling may be accommodated at manager's discretion

Job Description

• Position requires a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) with Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and adult respiratory experience
• Must be able to float to Emergency Room (ER) and Adult ICU Stepdown units
• Assignments include NICU, adult critical care, ER, pediatric unit, and community hospital settings
• Responsibilities include airway management, medication administration, arterial blood gas (ABG) draws and analysis, oxygen therapy, suctioning, pulmonary toileting, BiPAP, CPAP, and nebulizer treatments
• Night shift duties include aerosol, bronchial hygiene, and lung inflation therapies
• Experience preferred in NICU, ED, adult ICU, and level 2 trauma care
• Attendance at monthly department meetings required (or acknowledgment of meeting minutes if not working)

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Virginia
• Minimum 2 years of Respiratory Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Experience working with adult patients
• Experience in an acute care setting
• Proficient in airway management
