NICU Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job - Worcester, Massachusetts
Job Details
- Position: NICU Registered Nurse (Night Shift)
- Location: Worcester, MA
- Shift: Night, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: Must be able to start on July 15
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Massachusetts
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Level 3 or 4 NICU, including NICU experience within the last year
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification (AHA/AAP)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
Orientation and Testing
- In-person orientation includes a mandatory medication exam (pass/fail, one attempt only)
- Study materials provided for medication exam
- Failure to pass medication exam results in immediate contract cancellation
Compliance and Documentation
- Background checks include SSN trace, county and national criminal searches, education verification, and state-specific clearances
- Massachusetts statewide iCORI clearance required within 30 days prior to start
- Annual background check updates required for direct hires
- Required to upload all certifications and verifications within specified expiration periods
Additional Notes
- This position requires night shifts exclusively
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required
- Telemetry exam required only if assigned to telemetry-monitored units; NICU is exempt
- Medication exam and other competency exams are strictly enforced with no exceptions for failure
