Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Greensboro, North Carolina
Facility: Hospital in Greensboro, NC (Travel/Contract)
Contract Length: 12 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: 3x12 hour shifts, Nights (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Weekend Requirement: 2 weekend shifts or 4 weekend days per 6 weeks
• Holidays: As needed
• Call: No call required
• Experience: Minimum 2 years in Emergency Department (ED) required
• Travelers: First-time travelers are welcome

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• NIH Stroke Certification (required for all ER RNs at this facility)
• Pass/Fail EKG Competency Exam (must pass with 82% or higher, 2 attempts allowed)
• EPIC system proficiency required
• State RN license verification required within 30 days of start
• NURSYS verification within 60 days of start

Preferred Certifications

• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
• Previous Charge RN and Level 2 Trauma experience preferred

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
• Social Security Card (required for badge)
• Background Check (within 60 days, covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years)
• Education Verification (primary source, no pend allowed for RN EDVs)
• Transcript/Diploma (highest education level)
• Foreign Equivalency Education Evaluation (if education obtained outside the U.S.)
• Fingerprinting (NC SBI Fingerprint Results required for Home Health and Long-Term Care only)
• Physical Exam (if applicable)
• Immunizations and Health Documents including:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (adult vaccine required)
  • Negative TB test or Chest X-Ray (Qgold/TSPOT within 6 months)
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B titer or declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • Flu Seasonal Vaccination or approved exemption (required annually)
  • COVID-19 Vaccination or declination accepted
• Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 40 days of start
• Badge Photo: Must meet strict facility requirements (no selfies, solid background, business casual/uniform attire)
• Health History Form and other facility-specific documents must be completed prior to clearance

Scheduling & Policies

• Zero tolerance for tardiness and unexcused absences
• Compliance deadlines are strict (e.g., compliance due by noon EST the Wednesday prior to start date)
• Floating policy applies to all agency staff (must review and sign)
• Contractor Equipment Acknowledgement required

References & Work History

• Two supervisory references required for clinical positions (one within 12 months, one within 24 months)
• Employment application/resume with 7-year work history required
• Verification of all employment within last 5 years required through third-party vendor

Additional Notes

• Candidates must be flexible with scheduling
• Pass/Fail EKG exam required for all RNs regardless of specialty
• EPIC test required with 2 attempts allowed; additional attempts may be granted onsite at manager’s discretion
• Medication/Pharmacology competency exams required as applicable
• Color Blind Testing required (except non-clinical)
• Annual skills checklist with a one-week grace period for renewal
