Cardiac Telemetry RN Travel Contract

Overview

• Location: Seattle, Washington
• Employment type: Travel/Contract
• Shift: Night, 3x12 hours
• Weekly hours: 36
• Contract length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Washington
• Telemetry (2 years of experience)
• Telemetry experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association or Heart and Stroke Foundation
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or Heart and Stroke Foundation
• NIHSS
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Open heart surgery patient care experience
• Vascular surgery patient care experience
• Groin and radial band management experience
• Experience with Epic

Schedule Requirements

• Floating required
• Every other weekend required

Clinical Setting

• Surgical cardiac telemetry unit
• Patient population includes myocardial infarction, rule-out MI, arrhythmias, pre- and post-open-heart surgery, vascular surgery, coronary artery disease, heart failure, pre- and post-cath lab patients, stroke patients with cardiac involvement, and structural heart support cases

Skills and Procedures

• Breathing treatments
• Chest tube setup and care
• CPAP/BiPAP
• Trach care
• Blood and blood product administration
• Cardioversion and defibrillation
• Epicardial pacer management
• LVAD care
• Telemetry interpretation and dysrhythmia management

Additional Notes

• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4, with up to 1:5 at midnight
• Optional experience: VAD and TAVR
