Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology (Travel/Contract)

Location: Macon, Georgia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Day (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)

Job Summary

• Must have Hybrid OR vascular experience (hard requirement).
• Minimum 3 years of experience in specialty required.
• Unit accepts first-time travelers with required experience.
• Call requirement: 15 days per month, including weekends.
• Floating within facility and to a nearby location as needed.
• Maximum Return to Office (RTO) time: 7 days.
• Holiday work expectations:

  • If 1 major holiday falls during assignment, must work it.
  • If 2 major holidays fall, must work both.
  • If 3 major holidays fall, must work 2 of them.
• Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day.
• Locals accepted at the same rate.
• Number of non-billable orientation hours depends on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment).
• Full compliance with onboarding requirements is mandatory to start on time; delays result in a 2-week pushback due to orientation scheduling.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Georgia
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Interventional Radiology
• Interventional Radiology experience within the last year
• Minimum 3 years of Hybrid OR vascular experience

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Background Check: Must be completed within 30 days prior to start; includes criminal, sex offender, education verification, and others. Cannot start with background pending.
• Education Verification: Degree verification required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process (due within 30 days post start).
• Physical Exam: Required within 12 months prior to start.
• Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start; instant drug screen acceptable. Cannot start with results pending.
• TB Testing: Negative PPD, QGold, or TSpot within 12 months; if positive history, additional documentation required. TB questionnaire required annually.
• Immunizations/Vaccinations:

  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): 2 vaccines or positive titer required.
  • Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer required.
  • Hepatitis B: Surface antibody titer or signed declination required.
  • Flu vaccine or declination required during flu season (Nov 1 – Mar 31).
  • Tdap (Tetanus/Diphtheria/Pertussis) highly recommended but not mandatory for clearance.
• References: Two clinical references required.
• Skills Checklist: Must be current within 12 months.
• Work History Verification: Verification of most recent employer required; can be pending at start with proof it is in process.

Competency Exams

• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required for RNs.
• Color Blind Testing required for all candidates; alternative assessment available if needed.
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required for Telemetry and related units; up to 3 attempts allowed before cancellation.
• Other competency exams may be required depending on specialty.

Additional Notes

• Candidate will undergo a clinical screening to determine fit before final manager approval.
• Floating assignments may include coverage at a nearby facility within scope of practice.
• Candidate must review and sign facility-specific policies such as Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance.
• Orientation hours and requirements vary based on contract length.
• Compliance with all documentation and credentialing is critical to avoid start delays.
