Job Opportunity: X-Ray Tech
Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Work Schedule
- Nights, 12-hour shifts
- Week 1: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday (3:30 PM - 3:30 AM)
- Week 2: Tuesday, Friday, Saturday (3:30 PM - 3:30 AM)
- Standby call and holiday rotations required
- Floating between multiple units or locations based on staffing needs
Required Qualifications
- Valid Radiology Technologist license in Wisconsin
- Minimum 2 years of Radiology Technologist or X-Ray Tech experience, including experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Certifications & Compliance
- BLS (American Heart Association)
- ACLS, PALS, NRP as applicable (check unit description)
- State license primary source verification within 30 days of start and upon expiration
- National certification/verification within 30 days of start and upon expiration (as applicable)
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (annual)
- Pass/Fail Telemetry Testing (EKG/Medication) as required by specialty
- Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
- Competency exams as applicable to profession/specialty
Background & Screening Requirements
- Background check within 90 days prior to start date, including SSN trace, counties, nationwide, sex offender search
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks upon hire and monthly thereafter
- Education verification as applicable to specialty
- Wisconsin Caregiver Screening within 90 days of start (state mandated)
- Drug screening per standard requirements (not required annually)
- Physical exam per agency standard (not required by facility)
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility guidelines
- TB Questionnaire annually and as required for positive TB history
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): 2 doses or positive titers; medical/religious exemptions accepted with proper documentation
- Varicella: 2 doses or positive titer; medical/religious exemptions accepted
- Hepatitis B vaccination series and positive antibody titer or facility-specific declination form
- Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually during flu season
- Meningococcal vaccine or declination for certain departments (e.g., Microbiology)
Additional Facility Requirements
- Photo for badge (passport-style, no selfies or headwear except religious/medical)
- Completion of facility-specific communicable disease form within 90 days of start
- Completion of facility-specific flu, MMR, Varicella medical or religious exemption forms if applicable
- Telemetry exams and study guides required for inpatient units as applicable
- Safety and pass/fail testing acknowledgements required for telemetry testing

- Floating assignments may require working in multiple units or locations during the contract
- Facility is Magnet®-designated and highly ranked in Wisconsin
- Parking permit required if parking onsite; alternative transportation options available
