Job Opportunity: CVOR Registered Nurse

Location: Utica, New York

Job Description

Position in Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)
Requires 1+ year of experience in CTOR/CVOR
Must have New York RN license in hand
Experience with EPIC electronic health record system preferred
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York
Minimum 1 year of Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) experience within the last year
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Certifications & Competencies

BLS (Basic Life Support)
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) for ER staff
NIH Stroke Certification (if assigned to ICU, PCU, ER, CT ICU, or certain med/surg units)
Medication/Pharmacology competency exam
Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (for ICU, PCU, ER, CT ICU, and certain med/surg units)
Color Blind Testing (one-time)
NY Harassment Prevention Training (annual)

Health & Background Requirements

Physical exam within 1 year of start date
Fit mask test within 1 year and updated annually (specific N95 masks required)
Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (PPD, Quantiferon Gold acceptable; Tspot not accepted)
Required immunizations or proof of immunity:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (titer, declination, or vaccine series)
- Varicella (chickenpox)
9 Panel Drug Screen within 1 year of start
Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season (Sept 1 - Mar 31)
Pneumonia vaccination or declination

Additional Requirements

Government issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
Background checks including 7-year work/school history, sex offender registry, and federal exclusions (updated annually)
Education verification and professional references (2 for travel/allied/per diem acute care; 1 for per diem non-acute care) within 3 years
Completion of facility-specific online learning modules prior to first shift
Signed facility-specific job description and welcome packet acknowledgment
Photo for badge (professional headshot)
