Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Nurse (L&D RN)

Location: Melbourne, Florida
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Specialty: Registered Nurse – Labor and Delivery
• Patient Ratios: 1:2
• Years of Experience Required: Minimum 2 years in specialty
• First-Time Travelers: Accepted
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend or a total of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period (unit dependent)
• On-Call: Yes, as needed
• Floating: Required to float within scope to multiple hospital locations
• Block Scheduling: Possible, subject to unit manager approval
• Documentation System: EPIC

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• FHM (Fetal Heart Monitoring) certification through AWHONN
• BLS (Basic Life Support) and AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced certifications preferred

License Requirements

• Valid Florida State RN license or compact license required at time of submission
• Pending licenses are not accepted

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Florida
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience, with experience within the last year
• ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• NRP certification
• Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience with EPIC documentation system

Additional Requirements

• Two professional references from authority figures (managers, supervisors, charge nurses, or directors) within the last 12 months
• Flu vaccine required during flu season (October 31 - March 31); medical or religious exemptions accepted with proper documentation
• Must comply with all background checks and verifications including:

  • Background check within 90 days covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
  • Monthly HHS/OIG checks
  • Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance prior to start (Livescan electronic fingerprinting required if no prior clearance)
• Physical exam within 6 months prior to start
• Fit mask test within 12 months prior to start (strict shaving policy, no PAPR alternative)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 3 months prior to start
• Required immunization titers within 5 years: Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
• 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (must include marijuana; witnessed urine collection required for instant tests)
• Completion of facility-specific documents including job description acknowledgment, confidentiality agreement, and badge photo
