Job Opportunity: Medical Assistant

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Support family medicine providers in a primary care setting
• Duties include taking vitals, rooming patients, administering injections, wound care, physicals, well child exams, setting up for minor procedures, messaging, and calling patients with results
• Must be a strong communicator, team player, and have a strong work ethic

Schedule

• 40 hours per week (8-hour shifts)
• Shift times: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM or 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday
• No weekends, on-call, or holiday shifts

Required Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) with at least 6 months (0.5 years) of experience, including recent experience within the last year
• Experience in a Medical Assistant role combining primary care and receptionist duties
• Family Practice or primary care experience required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• High School Diploma or equivalent

Licensure

• No state licensure required for this position

Background and Compliance Requirements

• Background check covering the last 7 years, including social security address check for 15 years, national criminal search, sex offender search, education verification, and international searches if applicable
• Drug screen: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (instant tests not accepted)
• Physical exam within 12 months prior to start, cleared to work without restrictions
• Immunizations and/or titers required:

  • Tdap (or declination) within 10 years
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 90 days prior to start
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella immunity or vaccination
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series, titer, or declination
  • Varicella immunity or vaccination
  • Hepatitis C titer
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or declination (required during flu season)
  • COVID-19 vaccine or declination

Additional Requirements

• Must complete facility-specific documents and acknowledgments prior to start, including orientation packet, privacy and security information, and COVID-19 exposure questionnaire
• Must upload a badge photo on a plain blue background within 72 hours of signing
• Must complete required competency exams annually with a minimum score of 80%
• Must provide 2 professional references, including one from the most recent experience
• Complete 15 years of work history on employment application, including locations and any time off

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with pediatric and adult patients
• Knowledge of VFC program
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
