  • Minimum 2 years of experience as an RRT
  • First-time travel therapists accepted
  • Prior travel experience not required

Schedule

  • Night shifts, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (18:45 to 7:15)
  • Weekend requirement: every third weekend
  • Floating within scope of practice may be required to meet facility needs

Licensure & Certifications

  • Must hold a current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license
  • Pending license accepted
  • Required certifications:
    • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)
    • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential

Clinical Skills & Competencies

  • Airway management and suctioning including:
    • Endotracheal tube suctioning
    • Extubation
    • Nasal and oral airway suctioning and placement
    • Oropharyngeal suctioning
    • Sputum specimen collection
    • Tracheostomy suctioning
  • Medication administration experience with:
    • Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent
    • Inhaled Flolan, inhaled steroids
    • Lidocaine, Nitric Oxide (INo)
    • Pulmicort, Racemic epinephrine, Xopenex
  • Familiarity with medication delivery systems:
    • Aerosol setup mask and trach
    • Metered dose inhaler
  • Nebulizer use:
    • Handheld, T-piece, Trach collar, Ultrasonic
  • Oxygen therapy:
    • High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC)
  • Ventilator management including:
    • BiPAP, CPAP
    • Troubleshooting high pressure alarms
    • Weaning from mechanical ventilation
  • Arterial Blood Gas (ABG) interpretation
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system required

Additional Requirements

  • Must be willing to work within a 75-mile radius (locals not accepted)
  • Return to office (RTO) restrictions: no more than 7 days
  • Guaranteed minimum of 3 shifts per 13 weeks
  • Block scheduling accommodations may be available

Compliance & Onboarding Requirements

  • Government-issued ID required
  • Criminal background check within 6 months, including statewide and nationwide searches
  • Quarterly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
  • Education verification of highest related degree required
  • Professional license primary source verification (including NURSYS for Missouri licenses)
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start
  • Drug testing within 1 year of start, must include standard panels and be current throughout assignment
  • Fit mask testing (N95 respirators) required and must be renewed annually
  • Immunizations and health screenings:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine or declination
    • Negative TB test or chest x-ray per facility protocol
    • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination as applicable
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
  • Facility-specific documents including:
    • HIPAA Acknowledgement
    • Latex Allergy Questionnaire
    • Confidentiality Form
    • Regulatory Compliance Education (annual quiz with minimum 80% score)
    • Hand Hygiene, Fingernail, and Dress Code policies acknowledgment
    • Orientation modules completion (approx. 16 hours via online platform)
    • Badge photo (head and shoulders, white background, recent within 6 months)
  • Vehicle registration required if applicable

References & History

  • Two professional references required (supervisors preferred)
  • Employment application and unit-specific skills checklist required
  • Performance evaluations may be requested but are not mandatory for extensions

  • Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Missouri
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist
  • Recent Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
