Job Summary

Seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for night shifts in a short-term acute care hospital with Level III Trauma Center designation. The role requires working nights, weekends, and holidays with floating between like units as needed. The candidate must be comfortable working with both adult and pediatric patients in the ICU.

• Floating: Required within scope to meet facility needs
• Block Scheduling: Not accommodated
• Local Candidates: Not accepted (50-mile radius rule applies)
• Pending License: Not accepted
• Return to Work Policy: Must be gone for 1 year to return as a traveler
• Contract Limit: Maximum of 2 contracts (can extend once), then must be gone for 6 months before returning
• Guaranteed Hours: Call-off policy allows 2 shifts off per 13-week assignment; all other contracted shifts guaranteed
• RTO (Request Time Off): Only 4 days allowed, no holidays
• Patient Population: Adults and children, ICU setting

Required Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in North Carolina
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist
• Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year

Work Environment & Additional Information

• Facility uses Epic for charting
• Scrub color: Solid black or black and white
• Must be comfortable working in a Level III Trauma Center and teaching hospital environment
• Floating between units as needed
• Callouts for scheduled shifts require makeup shifts as deemed necessary
• Photo for badge required prior to start (professional passport-style photo)
• Multiple facility-specific documents and acknowledgments must be reviewed and signed prior to start
• COVID-19 vaccination is not required but accepted if available

Prior Travel Experience

• No explicit prior travel experience required

This position is ideal for experienced RRTs comfortable with night shifts, pediatric and adult ICU care, and flexible floating assignments in a high-acuity hospital setting.
