Job Description

Seeking a Registered Nurse specializing in Surgery for per diem shifts during the day.

Required Qualifications

• License: Valid California RN license required with primary source verification within 30 days of start.
• Certifications:

  • BLS (American Heart Association or Red Cross)
• Experience:

  • Specialty: RN Surgery
  • Years of experience: Not explicitly stated; assume standard RN Surgery experience required.
• Health Requirements:

  • COVID-19 vaccination series plus booster or completed declination
  • MMR immunity (2 vaccines or positive titer)
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series or immunity titers
  • Influenza vaccine or declination (required during flu season)
  • TB test within one year of start date
  • Varicella immunity (vaccination or titer)
  • Tdap vaccination (declinations not accepted in some locations)
  • Annual physical/health statement clearing candidate to work
  • Annual respirator fit test (must be completed prior to start if not available onsite)
• Background and Screening:

  • National criminal background check within one year of start date
  • Drug screening (minimum 10-panel including THC; for CA locations, additional saliva THC test required) within 60 days of start
• Training and Testing:

  • Completion of sexual harassment prevention training (valid for 2 years)
  • Completion of core competencies exam (minimum 80%)
  • Completion of specialty exam (minimum 80%)
  • Workplace violence prevention training (DCI/BVP)
  • Prime orientation packet and education verification (diploma or transcripts)
• Other:

  • Driver’s license, state ID, or passport required
  • Employment eligibility verification (Form I-9 or agency attestation)
  • Agency attestation and other onboarding documentation as required

Additional Notes

• Orientation paperwork is provided on the first scheduled shift to complete onsite.
• Some health and credential requirements must be current and uploaded prior to onboarding.
• Two professional references required, including at least one from a manager or direct supervisor.
• Name verification affidavit may be required if there are discrepancies in credentials.
