Job Opportunity: Surgical Technician

Location: Chicago, Illinois
Facility: Resurrection Medical Center
Hospital System: Prime Healthcare Foundation, Inc.
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
**Contract Length: 12 weeks


Job Description

  • Must have 2 years of experience in a busy Operating Room (OR) department.
  • Experience with EPIC system is required.
  • Rotating weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts.
  • On-call requirement: one night every 2 weeks, one weekend every 6 weeks.
  • Typical work hours: 06:45 AM to 3:15 PM, may extend depending on case load.
  • The OR department performs open heart surgeries, multiple medical and orthopedic surgeries, and other surgical cases.
  • All OR agency staff are required to take call.

Required Credentials & Certifications

  • Driver's License/State ID (required for onboarding)
  • Prime OIG clearance
  • Prime Drug Screening (minimum 10-panel test)
  • Prime Color-blind test (annual completion required)
  • Prime Agency Attestation
  • Prime SAM/EPLS
  • BLS Certification (American Heart Association or Red Cross)
  • License/Certificate Verification (primary source verification within 30 days of start)
  • Prime Specialty Exam (must score 80% or higher)
  • COVID-19 Vaccine (2 doses plus booster or declination completed)
  • MMR Immunity (proof of 2 vaccines or positive titer)
  • Annual Respirator Fit Test (required)
  • Hepatitis B Vaccination (declinations not accepted at some locations)
  • Influenza Vaccine (or declination, required October 1 - May 31)
  • TB Test
  • Varicella Immunity (vaccination or titer)
  • Tdap Vaccination (declinations not accepted at some locations)
  • Annual TB Questionnaire
  • Social Security Card
  • Physical/Health Statement (annual, must state clear to work)
  • Prime Core Competencies Exam (must score 80% or higher)
  • Prime Criminal Background Check (within one year of start date)
  • Prime Badge Photo (clear headshot required)
  • Prime Form I-9 (employment eligibility verification)
  • Prime Job Description (signed by employee)
  • Prime COA
  • DCI/BVP Certification
  • Essentials Onboarding Packet

Additional Information

  • Workday hours may extend depending on case load.
  • Must be prepared for rotating weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts.
