Job Opportunity: Histotechnician

Location: Morgantown, West Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Shift: Day shift, typically 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday
Weekend/Holiday Requirements: None
Call/Standby Requirements: None
Dress Code: Hospital scrubs provided

Job Description

Perform grossing of simple and complex tissue specimens in an Anatomic Pathology Gross Room setting
Work with equipment such as Epic Beaker AP (LIS system), Cryostat, bone saw, scalpels/knives
No patient contact involved
Training and orientation provided by current Pathology Assistants

Required Qualifications

Certification: Certified Histotechnician (HT) or Certified Histotechnologist (HTL) via ASCP Verification
Education: Associate’s degree in histotechnology or adequate science education meeting CLIA requirements for high complexity testing personnel; Bachelor’s degree also acceptable
Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in histology with significant grossing experience
BLS (AHA) certification is not required

Additional Information

Candidates with either HT or HTL certification will be considered
No requirement to be a generalist or perform phlebotomy
No prior travel experience required

This position is ideal for histotechnicians with solid grossing skills looking for a day-shift role without weekend or holiday work.
