Tele Float RN

Location

• Tacoma, Washington

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Schedule

• 12-hour day shifts
• Full time
• Every other weekend
• Up to 4 call or standby shifts during the contract
• 1–2 winter holidays

Unit / Setting

• Med/Surg and Telemetry
• Primary assignment is to the med surg/tele division
• May float to all MS/Tele divisions and alternate med surg/tele units
• May also float throughout Region Two

Required Qualifications

• BLS
• At least 2 years of acute care experience
• RN license
• Must be able to titrate drips

Clinical Details

• Telemetry is monitored remotely by telemetry techs, with RNs verifying readings
• RNs take 4–5 patients
• CNAs take 8–11 patients
• May be assigned as a CNA if RN short
• May be assigned as an entrance screener if needed
• RT equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, and trachs; no vents

Patient Care Areas

• Surgical unit with abdominal surgeries, trauma, and Whipple patients
• Long-term low-acuity unit for patients waiting for placement or on long-term antibiotic therapy
• General medical cases, chronic and acute
• Short-stay cardiac and COVID unit
• Neuro unit
• Ortho and spine unit
• Med Surg Oncology
• ER Transition Unit
• ERT: 9 transition beds in the emergency room
• CDU: rapid cardiac decision unit with 8 beds
• MSW: med-surg transition area with 8 beds

Additional Notes

• Travelers may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity, within the past year
• Breaks must be taken when offered and cannot be refused
• No specific scrub color required
